05:16 pm - OK-- Why not. Sign that things are going well: Played the first Full Tilt event last night $200 NL and moneyed, and also played the $24 nightly NL tourney and took 5th, which was good for something like $1400. That is the 3rd time I have final tabled that sucker in something like 12 tries. That is crazy lucky, but too bad I haven't won it. It is usually worth about $6k for the win.
Started running well again in July and increased my play. Since early July I am running about 9 BB/100s-- which somewhat makes up for about 25000 hands of running just above break even. With Neteller funds back in my hands, my bankroll is back to being comfortable for $400-$600 games which seems to be about all that runs with any regularity. I will probably try to play about 10K hands a month at the $400 level and step up or down for table selection/# of tables. The only real difference I have noted in my play is I have toned down my aggression a little bit and as is always key when I run well, I have stayed away from getting stuck early by starting somewhat conservatively.

10:15 am - Recent Events I have pulled out all but a skeleton bankroll from Pokerstars and Fulltilt. I do not expect to ever see my money from Neteller, which I can live with ($3k loss). but I am not stupid enough to wait for the other shoe to drop and lose it all if the DOJ goes after any poker sites resulting in similar problems for them.
I do not think I am getting ANY reliable information about what is really happening with money in the other cases that the DOJ has going, and feel for sometime that NETELLER has been less than forthcoming about why the money is not flowing and what their expecations are. FWIW, I do not think that Neteller is "stealing" anyone's money, I have a feeling they are between a rock and a hard place and either lack the ability to allow US customers to cash out, and/or are receiving legal advice not to.
I am not optimistic about Online poker over the short-term and am taking a wait-and-see approach to playing and funding. I will play significantly less hands (which I was doing anyway) and typically smaller stakes than usual) and mostly "recreational".

02:01 pm - Performance Review So how much was saving our client $6+ million at arbitration at my annual performance review? $16k. That was split amongst salary bump and bonus. Not bad! Especially since I still haven't made any money in 2007 poker. Another similar bump next year and I really wouldn't have to rely on poker income to send my son to the excellent private middle school/high school in 08. That would make poker seem a little less like work, which would be nice.

04:34 pm - Arbitration Some may remember that I tried a construction case in Arbitration for 2-weeks in August. The claimant was asking for $7 million and we offered $1.65 million to settle-- which they declined
I just received the verdict today. $250,000!!! PWNAGE! The $250k was all damages that we had previously admitted to.
Proudest day of my legal career. Maybe I should quit my "day" job and focus on the law a little more.
Hope my firm shows me a little extra bonus love.
